Wes and Robin Maynard started in the Restaurant business in 1988 in the small western town of Breckenridge, TX. After 4 years of operating in Breckenridge, they sold their shares of the business so they could move back home to Parker County and open a place of their own. The plan was simple - offer great food and friendly service at a reasonable price, do right by your employees and community, and success will come to you. The doors to the Mesquite Pit opened in April of 1993 and we try to reach those goals everyday. In 2000, our success allowed us to expand from a small place next to a grocery store to a restaurant the size it is today. This could never have been possible had it not been for the many years of support and patronage from our family, friends, and most importantly, our customers. So please, sit back, get comfortable, and enjoy a great meal with our family, and let us know if you need anything, because after all, The Mesquite Pit, first and foremost, belongs to you!

About our restaurant
We think that the Mesquite Pit is about the finest restaurant of it type in the area. We specialize in Mesquite grilled steaks and Bar-be-cue. Folks drive from all over to enjoy dining at The Mesquite Pit and we are always happy to see old friends and make new ones.
We are open 6 days a week serving Lunch and Dinner. Our hours are: Monday-Thursday from 11am to 9pm and then on Friday and Saturday from 11am to 9:30pm.

The Mesquite Pit is located in Weatherford, Texas at 1201 Fort Worth Hwy.
That is also known as Business Hwy 80, and we are located 1.5 mile East of Courthouse Square, on the North side of the highway.
