A bit about us
Mesquite Pit began with a simple goal, to serve great food with friendly service at a fair price. In 1988, Wes and Robin Maynard entered the restaurant business in the small western town of Breckenridge, Texas. After four years, they returned home to Parker County to open a place of their own. That dream came to life in April of 1993 when the doors to the first Mesquite Pit opened.
Built on values of hard work, community, and hospitality, Mesquite Pit quickly became a local favorite. In 2000, growing demand allowed us to expand from a small spot next to a grocery store to the spacious, family-friendly restaurant our guests enjoy today.
In 2008, Wes and Robin's oldest son, Jake Maynard, carried the tradition forward by opening our Mineral Wells location. With its own charm and dedicated team, it continues the Pit's promise to serve mesquite-grilled steaks, slow-smoked barbecue, and classic comfort food with a Texas smile.
